Nyesom Wike Approves Construction of 5 Kilometer Road In Rivers State
Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has flagged off the construction of the Elimgbu -Rumuewhara-Rumunduru-Eliozu road in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, with the objective of reviving the collapsed economy of the four communities of Oroigwe clan.
While performing the ground-breaking of the road on Tuesday, Governor Wike said that the Oroigwe have suffered untold hardship because of the poor condition of the road. He said that the Elimgbu -Rumuewhara-Rumunduru-Eliozu was politicised by previous administrations without any work done on the road.
The governor also said that the road will be completed on schedule because funds have been reserved for its execution.
In the words of the governor,"We are constructing this road to end the suffering of the people of Oroigwe clan. The fund for the project has been reserved and the contractor is expected to work in line with the approved schedule and specifications. This road has been a source of political deception by the previous administration. While they used the road to campaign, they made no effort to construct this road. By the Special Grace of God this road will be constructed from start to finish. It will no longer be used for political expediency ".
