FOREX RESTRICTION: 99% businesses may die by March, if… —Leo-Stan Ekeh

LAGOS—Chairman of Zinox Group of companies, Mr Leo-Stan Ekeh, yesterday advised President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently engage the private sector to ease the stifling economic situation in the country.
Ekeh while addressing a cross section of newsmen in Lagos yesterday said that Nigerian businessmen are going through harrowing times to sustain their businesses now due to the forex restrictions imposed by the present administration, adding that perhaps less than one per cent of Nigerian businessmen will still be standing if current realities remain till March this year.

He lamented that not being able to source adequate foreign exchange to transact business has made a lot of businesses lose credibility in international market and if that continues the entire economy may shut down.
However, he also expressed optimism that the Nigerian economy can never shut down totally but warned that “the shocks and gaps in the economy at the moment represent our current realities and we must find creative ways to navigate this harsh economic climate. The unprecedented fall in the price of crude oil is a global phenomenon which even the smartest economist couldn’t have predicted. The only regret is that successive governments failed to save for the present rainy day we are experiencing when prices were at their peak.
“Having said that, we must always look forward. I sincerely believe that the current administration has the requisite political will and capacity to see the country through this storm and the new mindset of Nigerians to get things done properly also helps.
“I also believe that the organized private sector holds the key to a way out of the present quagmire. As a matter of urgency, President Buhari should engage the private sector to save Nigeria. The three levels of the sector drives over 80 per cent of Nigeria’s economy and certainly, we can only move forward when the government carries them along.
“Recall that in the run-up to last year’s elections, President Buhari met with representatives of the private sector in Lagos to present his party’s economic plans. This and other engagements certainly went a long way in contributing to his victory at the polls.It is my considered opinion that the time is right for the President to enlist the support of the sector in finding a way out of the current economic challenges,” he added.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in FCT on Friday commenced the training of 120 INEC staff and National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) members on Continuous Voter Registration (CVR).

The FCT Administrative Secretary of INEC, Mr Abdulrazaq Adamu, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja.

Adamu said that the staff from Grade levels eight to12 and NYSC members were being trained on computer compliance and registration processes.

He said the training would prepare them for the forthcoming exercise on Jan. 13, to the capture the data of Nigerians who did register during the last registration and those that turned 18 years.

He said the training would also enable them to capture all electorate for the forthcoming council elections in March in the six area councils.

One of the NYSC members, Mr Nwobi Dominic, told NAN that they were trained on how to handle the machines on the registration of voters.

Nwobi said that the training afforded them the benefit of administrative and technical processes of registration while practical exercise was carried out on data capturing.

Miss Chinyere Uzochukwu, another Corp member, said the CVR training would give room for the capturing of those who did not register in the last registration and those who just attained 18 years.

Uzochukwu said trainees would be assigned different functions and that they were promised their allowances would be paid at the end of the training.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that each of the trainees was entitled to a token of N4, 500 for their transport and feeding for the three days of training.

He prays before raping ME-VICTIM

It was an ordeal that nightmares are made of.  A 20-year-old Yazidi woman, who says she was held as a sex slave by ISIS, told CNN’s Christiane Amanpour in an exclusive interview that her captor was a fighter who told her he was from the United States.

The victim, who asked to be called “Bazi” (not her real name) is now in the U.S. to testify to Congress about her allegations against the American – and to push the FBI to press charges against the man she said went by the name of Abu Abdullah Al Amriki (Abu Abdullah the American).
The woman’s story could not be independently verified. The human rights group Hardwired assisted her in going to the U.S.
Her captor “was very white,” Bazi told Amanpour in Washington. “He was a little bit taller than me, with a black beard, black hair. I also saw his own family. He had a wife and two children, a son and a daughter.”
That family, she said, still lived in the United States; he claimed he was able to visit them several times. He claimed he had been a teacher in America, and showed her pictures of his family, she said.
Bazi told Amanpour she was captured by ISIS when the extremist group overran the city of Sinjar in Iraq, in August 2014. She was taken to Raqqa, Syria, which ISIS claims for its capital. There, she was auctioned off as a slave along with 10 other girls.
The American, she said, sold off the nine other girls and kept her for himself.
‘Before raping me, he would pray…’
In the hands of a member of ISIS, the punishment for not being a Muslim was horrible.
“He was talking in a bad way about the church,” Bazi said. “He said, ‘I wasn’t awake in my life … until I was converted to Islam.’ He said this is the right path for me and for everyone to live on this planet, to become Muslim.”
“He was telling us we should go back to the Prophet’s age, where we force everyone to become Muslim. Everybody should be a Muslim – either be a Muslim or die.”
The American, however, seemed content to keep Bazi as a slave for his sexual pleasure – albeit one, as a non-Muslim, that required him to cleanse himself after the act was done.
“Before raping me, he would pray for like fifteen minutes or half an hour. And after that, even if it was 2 a.m., 3 a.m., after raping me, he would go take a shower and pray again.”
After several attempts, escape
Despite the horrors she faced, Bazi said her thoughts were with the other girls.
“The first time he raped me, he tried to rape the other girl who was with me, but I told him since I felt I’m already raped, I don’t want the other one [to be raped]. So I became responsible for the other one.
“I told him, you do this to me, you can have me. Please don’t hurt her and don’t do anything to her.
“I told him to treat her as a servant for him, because he was sheikh, an emir, so he would just have her as a servant.
“So I convinced him the whole time until we were able to escape from his house.”
Her eventual escape came after several failed attempts. She told Amanpour that on her successful attempt, she managed to make it to a nearby shop and call her family.
Her family knew people in ISIS-held territory who worked to get girls out of Syria.
“I was never able to even think about getting out of there, since – although I tried many times, all the time I was aware that I will fail. And so even now, I don’t believe how i made it. “Everybody talks about this subject because it’s sensitive,” Bazi said. “But when it comes to the action, nobody does nothing.”

He wanted a relationship with me again during my UNI days but I refused cause he looks like a playboy to me. 2 years back, he started pressurizing me for a relationship again, though he lives abroad. 

Unfortunately, he lost his wife in January, and for the past 4 months he has been disturbing me to leave hubby for him. Matter of fact, I'm beginning to have feelings for him but I'm so scared. Remember I said he looked like play boy to me back then cause he is too handsome. 

I need mature advise on this as I don't know if I can cope with him or just stay put with hubby and keep on hoping for the best.

My dilemma is a but long but I will try to cut it short. Everything i have written in this mail is 100% true life.

I know God is not the author of confusion. I come from a family where we so much believe in meeting men of God before taking important decisions that affect our lives.

I have met a number of men in my life, but it seems it is my destiny to always be involved in long distance relationships because all the men i have ever been involved with have been very far from me.



About three years ago i met a man based in London and we kind of hit it off. I met him via social media and we chatted and exchanged messages before we met physically. He is a single father but the child lives with the mum in USA. He got married in 2011 but the marriage only lasted a year before breaking down. At least that's what he told me.

One day, in church, during prayer, my pastor told me that I have met my husband. He now described this London guy, down to his failed marriage and daughter. He told me to pray well so that he will not leave me. Well, i prayed well. I also went for prayer at another church, this time a C&S  church and i was told the same thing.

When we met, he tried to sleep with me and that was when i became doubtful. I have always told God that i want a man who will not ask me for sex before marriage so how come God is sending me a man who sees nothing wrong with fornication?

I went to my father's church which is headed by a prophetess to unburden my mind and even before I finished she told me that the London guy is NOT my husband. She also told me some deep and secret things about him which i have never told anybody, including the real reason why his first marriage broke up (the guy loves parties too much).

A fourth prophet who a friend introduced to me also confirmed the words of the prophetess. So I was so confused. God is not the author of confusion. The first two said God told them he is my hubby, the remaining two told me God told them he is NOT my hubby!!!

Part 2

I kinda withdrew from the London guy because of his demands for sex and the fact that he is kinda promiscuous. That isn't what i want in man and that is not what i have been praying for, plus all the confusing prophecies.

This year, I met another guy, this time based in America. He is what i want in a man, or so i thought. I also met him via social media. All through the time we were chatting before we were supposed to meet he never for once sent me his picture saying he is a very shy and private person. He is very secretive and his reason is that he has been so hurt by people he called his family members, he never gave me his phone number, so the only way we corresponded was by mail.

We chatted for months via mail, to the extent that we were even declaring undying love for each other. He said he was a virgin and he wanted me to disvirgin him (he is 37). I was amazed. A 37 year old virgin!

So off i went to consult my prophets with his name. My pastor and the C&S Woli gave me the green light, and they described him down to his family, according to the leading of the spirit. I was happy.


When i prayed on my own concerning the American guy, I had a dream that we were getting married, although in the dream i was not too happy because he wasn't what i expected, but married we got. I had these dream for two days straight and on the third day he called me for the first time and i was shocked because he didnt have an American accent as i expected. Rather, he had a thick Hausa accent and sounded like someone in his 40s. I was a bit disappointed and for the first time understood what my dream meant.

When this American guy came to Naija, for some reasons he was too busy for us to meet in the first week he came but the second week, we had a small disagreement and he cut of from me completely. He stopped responding to my texts and and refused picking my calls. Sad, i went to the prophetess (my father's church) and without mincing words she told me he was a scammer who had two wives already (he is Hausa): the first one is a young lady in Nigeria while the second one is a white woman who is much older than him.

I was flabbergasted.

What the hell is going on??? God is NOT the author of confusion. All these prophets are anointed men and women of God so why is there a disparity in their messages??

Right now, the he hasn't gotten back to me till now (since September), while the London guy is still on my case. I am ashamed to admit that when he came to Nigeria last month i fell into temptation and slept with him, twice. And guess what he gave me? Candidiasis, which i had to spend money i don't have to treat.

To be fair the guy is a really sweet guy but he is too wayward and likes parties too much, and that is not what i have been praying to God for in a man. Plus he told me that after his first marriage he has lost interest in ever remarrying.

I am just fed up with the confusion.
