Dear Nigerian Men, Would You Marry Your Elder Brother's Ex?

One of us, a TILB reader urgently needs your advice. Read her mail below:

Hello Laila, I met a guy only to find out that I've known his brother. I've only been with 3 guys in total and 2 of them are brothers. Nawa for this life o. Anyways I've been with his brother twice. The last time I had a hook up was January and it was with his brother. Only for me to meet this guy in another city and find out it's the brother.
I like him a lot and he's gunning for a relationship that may lead to marriage. He has a good heart and God knows I don't even want to break his heart for him. Do I tell him at all, or do I tell him now or later? I'm so sad I could just kill myself right now.

OMG! TILB Reader Gets Text that Nigerian Friend was Killed in Paris Terrorist Attacks

Please read the shocking email our dearest reader, Queeneth London sent me, guys. This is definitely a frightening way to be told that one of your close friends may have been a victim of the terrorist attacks that recently hit Paris. Please read.

Good Evening Mrs Laila, my name is Queeneth London am a reader on your blog ... last night on CNN breaking news, I heard about the terrorist attack in Paris. So just me checking on my friends in Paris, I tried to contact them (just two thou) the other was taking Ph-Paris-Amsterdam so he said he was safe. Then I tried to contact Michael; we have been friends for many years he is based in the UK and currently on vacation in Paris.
Few days back he told me about it and sent me some photos. So I sent a message last
night on BBM asking him if he was alright and I got no response till this afternoon when a reply came  in French. I thought he was joking as usual but when I  used an online translator, the message was translated as :
'the owner of this phone has been killed in a terrorist attack'.
I don't want to believe anything has happened to him. I've been crying all evening... he has a family here in Port harcourt and I can't reach anyone to tell them about this.. This is a terrible way to find out about anything... I pray he is alive, just holding on to faith! Maybe his phone fell out, maybe this was all a mistake, phone swap what ever, I just don't know so confused.
Wow! Wow! Wow! Please keep us updated, Queeneth. This is so sad to read. I'm strongly with you in prayers.

UPDATE: QUEEN'S FRIEND IS THANKFULLY WELL & VERY OKAY.

Hot Seat Mondays Is Here Again !!!!!!!!

Hey Lailans (I'm loving this new moniker..Weird but extremely cool) welcome to another wonderful edition of Hot Seat Mondays..

We have a very special blog guest today, and it's my privilege to interview one of the most likable personality on LailasBlog, our very own Nono 'nonoristic' Blessedm
Please enjoy......

TILB: My brother, I hail o.. So glad to have you on the hot seat bro

Nono: I return the hailing o.. Thanks my brother

TILB: You're welcome man...So Odogwu, I'm sure a lot of TILBers are dying to know who you are (especially dem ladies).. So please tell us everything there is to know about you and please do not leave any details out

Nono: OK, my names are Nonso Prince Philips Okpara, I am from orlu Imo state. I am the first son of family of eight. (that's large right? Lol) I attended HOPEBAY Children school and KINGS College. Was a first year student of IMSU before daddy gave up the ghost.

TILB: Wow, so sorry about your loss.. May his soul continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord

Nono: Thank you and Amen

TILB: So, you became the father of the house immediately after his demise?

Nono:
And the husband also

TILB: Of course..That must have been a whole lot of work.

Nono:
I am telling you but I give God the glory.

TILB: Yes oh.. God is always faithful my brother.. But obviously, you've turned out to be quite a responsible and likable young man who'd make a good husband someday

Nono:
Lol... I guess..

TILB: Lol.. Ladies do you hear that? Lol.... So, from what you've experienced so far, what are the things that make a good husband?

Nono:
For sure I've learnt a lot during these years and I am still learning. There is nothing my mum appreciates more than the care, love and the attention I give to her. so I guess those three  are important in making a good husband.

TILB: Excellent.....Let's talk about your education a lil bit.. Did you continue schooling after the sad event?

Nono:
Not yet, I will continue soon. I have a lot of them (my younger siblings) presently schooling. The expenses will incapacitate me if rush back now.

TILB: Strong man... Your sense of sacrifice and strength is admirable.. Kudos

Nono:
Thanks my bro

TILB: You're welcome sir... So let's talk about something entirely different.. What are your thoughts on the renewed biafra agitation currently holding sway in some parts of eastern Nigeria?

Nono:
My dear I'd rather not talk about it.

TILB: Why not brother?.. I think it will be great to hear from a young and an exposed individual like you, about topics like this, especially as it affects our present time

Nono:
I don't want to talk about it cos I am neither with them nor against them. Important thing is that I am not ready for any civil war.

TILB: Wise words.. So what do you do

Nono:
I am a civil servant, a business man(shop owner ) and I am also an engineer(Mechanical). I do marine engines. Earth moving equipment. And big generators

TILB: Wow, quite industrious of you... How do you combine all of these things together?

Nono:
There are a lot you can do when there is a chase( something is chasing you or you are chasing something or the both is happening.) Lol.

TILB: Hahahahahahaha.. That's true....Alright, let's talk about your future plans.. Where do you see Nono five years from now?

Nono:
First of all, I want to have at least five graduates from my family in the next five years. Secondly, i hope to also further my education. Thirdly, I want to make alot of money, get married and become a father of many nations. And most importantly I want to win souls for Christ.

TILB: Hahahahaha @Father of many nations... Are you sure Appleberry will agree to that?

Nono:
We will discuss it...lol

TILB: Hmmmm.. Forgive my intrusion, what's up with you and Apple... You guys look good together you know?

Nono:
I've been praying seriously, That's all I can say. Thank you by the way

TILB: You're welcome bro... we'll be praying along with you.. We sure wanna witness more TILB nuptials....So,tell us the most embarrassing/ crazy thing that has ever happened to you

Nono: Erhhh, the day Laila called me about this interview, it was pretty embarrassing.
I was playing music on my sound system with my phone, all my younger ones were around and some friends also. Then my phone rang I forgot to remove it from speaker and I picked the call, the next thing we heard was "NONSO, I am pregnant for you.'' The look, the shock and the disappointment on every one face was something else.

TILB: Buhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.. I can imagine.. Laila is the queen of pranks...lol.. That woman sure knows how to give someone heart attack with her pranks.. So, describe Laila and LailasBlog in just one word

Nono:
Amazing

TILB: That sounds about right.. Nono, please tell us your hopes and aspirations for our country, Nigeria

Nono:
I hope for a better and peaceful Nigeria, where we can all live in peace. A Nigeria where I can go to any part of the country without being afraid of bombs or kidnappers, a Nigeria were every tribe will enjoy equal rights, and a Nigeria where I can travel to my village without the fear of my wicked uncle or Aunt or one wicked person trying to hurt me or my loved ones. Just a Nigeria peaceful Nigeria.

TILB: It is well, I'm sure we'll get there someday.. Do you have a word or two for your fellow blog readers?

Nono:
Never give up hope no matter what, because it can only get better. I am a living witness and be careful of laughing at others for perhaps God might forgive their ignorance and not forgive your arrogance.

TILB: Nono, it's been a pleasure chatting you up.. Thank you for your time

Nono:
You're welcome

So that was Nono Blessedm. Quite an interesting young man, you'll agree with me.. Guys, if you have more questions for him, please feel free to ask and I'm sure Nono will gladly answer them.... TILB rocks !!!!!

Have yourselves a greatly productive week. Until we come your way again, cheers y'all !!!!

New Adorable Photos of My Kids.. I'm Celebrating My 7th Wedding Anniversary!!!

Yesterday November 15th was my 7th wedding anniversary, guys. This is me and my squad!

How gorgeous are we?? lmaoo.

I'm so excited!! The devil tried to steal my shine some days ago but nahh, I've got a greater God on my side. It's just that after it happened, I got destabilized and needed to just cool off a little. It wasn't a major incident. No one was hurt or even touched, only valuables were stolen. Though I did get shocked at the coincidence - this same time last year November, I was involved in a major bank robbery. I survived that and days later, I got robbed at home. Only for it to happen again same time this year.

Lesson learnt is that we should all be security conscious, guys. ALWAYS! Never take anything for granted. Lock your doors, your windows too. Be mindful of what's happening around you. Xmas is almost here and these guys are bent on meeting their targets. It's crazy but we are covered in Jesus' name!

So, back to the good news jare - see how time flies, guys.

I still remember clearly, November 15th 2008. The day I walked down the aisle with my husband. I was glowing with so much pride that day just standing beside him. Like play, like play, our union is 7 YEARS OLD! And I'm very proud to say I still love my hunk of a husband like no other! I love him more with every year that passes and I can't wait to live, love and celebrate many more years of marriage with him. Please celebrate with me, guys!

But before that, check out these new adorable photos of my baby boys and how grown they are now. Y'all already know their names but for the benefit of my new readers - Dubem is my eldest son, he is 6 years old. Ebunigom (full name is Chiebunigom) is 5 and Letem (Chiletem), my baby of the house, 2 years old.

I've got a lot to thank God for. Do join me in thanking Him.

Please Help Save My Wedding, Dearest Nigerians

My dearest people, one of us is in dire need of our help.

I've been on the phone with Michael (not real name used so as to protect his privacy) since yesterday and he is seriously in a deep mess. Please read the mail he sent in:

Hello Laila,
I am engaged to a very wonderful lady who I have been dating for over 5 years now.
Our white wedding ceremony is suppose to take place Saturday November 21st 2015 but this may not happen because of a certain situation beyond my control.
I am a young man from a very poor family working hard to make it in life while my fiancee comes from a well off background.
My fiancée lives in Lagos while I live in Delta state.
Sometime in 2013, we did our introduction after which she traveled to the UK for her masters program (sponsored by her parents) a week later.
Few days after she landed in the UK, trouble started. Her parents started advising her to ditch her engagement ring as she might not get favours from people if they notice she is engaged. This request was quite strange to both of us but she ignored their suggestion.
All through her stay in the UK, she was pestered not to even bother coming back to Nigeria and she should look for opportunities over there but she vehemently insisted she has someone in Nigeria she has promised to marry and won't do that to me.
After a long 1 year 5months of absence, she finally came back to Nigeria mid July this year.
The parents insisted she must travel again to further her education but this time she insisted only after she is married and this caused a big issue in their home.
I was abused, denigrated and vilified by the parents as they can't understand why she would want to settle down with me when she has the opportunity to meet "better" people abroad. This is strange as they initially accepted me with open hands and were supportive during my introduction ceremony.
It became apparent that they felt their daughter is now "bigger' than me because she had gotten her second degree from a foreign land while I am just an ordinary Bsc holder.
Notwithstanding all the pressures from her family, my woman insisted it is either me or nothing else and I was invited over for a discussion. They thought I knew nothing about their intentions as they insisted she doesn't tell me.
I came for the family discussion, and after it, the parents reluctantly agreed to our marriage on the condition she must be allowed to further her education.
I agreed with my fianceé that we will for now, do our registry and traditional wedding only so we can save cost as I was having some challenges with work lately. I work with a contracting firm but for some months now we are yet to do any job.
Behold, the parents insisted we must also wed in the church immediately. Ordinarily I don't have an issue with it but I did explain to my fianceé that I cannot afford to spend money on a 2-day event as it will raise the budget for the whole wedding astronomically.
She lives at the outskirts of Lagos and there is no way we can compress both traditional and church wedding to a one day event. But her parents insisted that it was either we did all the weddings now or none at all.
It is apparent all this was done to frustrate me to give up but each time I contemplate that I remember the sacrifice my fiancé has gone through for our sake.
The parents have left the whole financial burden of the wedding on me even though I have complained severally I cannot manage it alone and it has not been easy trying to meet up with our wedding date.
I have covered all the expenses for the traditional wedding which will take place on friday but I am yet to do anything for the white wedding.
I am frustrated and just feel like ending the whole drama but am scared of what I might put my fiancée through. I am so depressed, frustrated and cry myself to sleep every night knowing that it is beyond my power to do what it takes to have the white wedding done.
I have contemplated pulling off from the whole wedding but I know my fiancé will be so heartbroken and only God knows what might befall her as she is so emotional and is really banking on me to pull this off.
I feel I have failed her and am scared of what our future will be if I end things now that invitation cards are already shared. I am really in a terrible fix.
I am using this medium to appeal to kindhearted people to please come to my aid. I will appreciate any assistance that can be offered.
Fortunately, I have been able to pay for the reception hall and cover some minor areas but I desperately need help in the following areas:
  • Decoration of the event center
  • MC for the occassion
  • Caterer (food)
  • Drinks
  • Photography and video
  • A car for the groom to church event and back to reception venue
In fact, any amount of assistance in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Please help save my wedding. It is just 10days away and if I don't get this help it may never come to pass. I am at a crossroad and only you and God can see me through.
I know this is a personal journey but find it in your heart to offer whatever assistance that you can muster.
Anyone who can assist in any of the above can contact Laila who will pass on the message to me.
May God richly bless you in advance as you offer prayers and assistance on our behalf.

Please dearest TILB readers, I join in this urgent appeal. Search your hearts, whatever it is you can contribute to make this second TILB wedding happen, please help us.

Send me a mail Lailasblog@gmail.com so we can talk further. Thank you so much.
