Yesterday, October 7 was star actress Laide Bakare’s birthday and to commemorate the day she decided to give back to the society that encouraged her to greatness by launching a foundation she called Laide Bakare Foundation (LBF).
LBF is a non-governmental organisation (NGO) which she started having seen the plights of girl-child suffering from Vesico Vaginal Fistula (VVF) which mostly is as a result of early marriage/ childbirth by girl child of school age who are forced into marriage.
The Nollywood actress said that activities of the LBF will kick off in a matter of weeks from its launch. She shared this and more on her Instagram page.
Laide Bakare has been in Nollywood for over 15 years playing varied roles such as acting, film making and directing.
She has combined these with the roles of a mother, business woman and entrepreneurship culminating in the floating of a record label Simline Records.
