Checkout the largest pink diamond to ever be auctioned

Millionaires across the globe will be fighting to be the next owner of the largest pink diamond to ever be auctioned - with a price tag starting at $23m.

The diamond, known as a 'Fancy Vivid Pink', is so rare that only one in 100,000 diamonds possess the same colour depth.

According to Mailonline, the 16 carat stone is on display in London this week as part of its international tour ahead of its sale in Geneva next month. The Fancy Vivid is rivalled only by the Queen's 23 carat 'Williamson' brooch, given to her as a wedding gift by Canadian geologist John Williamson.

Meanwhile,a flawless blue diamond is set to become the world’s most expensive gemstone when it goes up for auction.

The Blue Moon Diamond – named for its colour and extreme rarity – is a 12.03 carat jewel which is expected to sell for up to $55million.It has been assessed as internally flawless and gem experts say its extraordinary clarity, combined with its vivid ocean blue colour, make it one of the world’s rarest stones.

That price would smash the current world record of $46.1million paid for a pink diamond, the 24.78 carat Graff Pink, in 2010.The Blue Moon was discovered in January 2014 in the Cullinan mine in South Africa, which has produced some of the world’s best-known diamonds.
