Breaking News :Delta: Violence, irregularities mar council polls

Delta: Violence, irregularities mar council polls

The 2018 Delta state local council elections, across the 25 council areas of the state, started out on Saturday on a violent note as unknown armed men set the State Independent Electoral Commission (DSIEC) office in the Ughelli council Secretariat on fire.
The situation was not less volatile in other council areas, especially in the Delta Central District. There were reports of violent attacks, leaving more than two persons hospitalised in Ughelli.

There also reports of malpractices in the distribution of election materials, leading to mass resistance by voters in both Ughelli South and Udu council areas.

Although the take off of the exercise in Warri South and Uvwie council areas was relatively peaceful as DSIEC officials and party representatives were seen going about the distribution processes, the situation in many other parts of the state was opposite.

However, the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC) in Uvwie council area, Ufuoma Okenini, has raised the alarm over alleged intimidation and threat to the lives of members and supporters of his party by those he described as “thugs of the PDP”.

In Ughelli, as at about 8:30am, sources in Ughelli, the headquarters of Ughelli North council area of the state, said while the DSIEC, party representatives and security officers were distributing materials to various units, some armed men invaded the Secretariat, shooting sporadically and left the DSIEC office ablaze.

A source told the Nation that the atmosphere in the council Secretariat was tense as the attackers carried out their mission. Although there was no report of death, it was learned that many persons sustained various degrees of injuries.

“At about 8:30am this morning, while the security agencies were on ground waiting for election materials at the Ughelli secretariat, some armed men bust into the place , shooting very rapidly.

“As we speak, the secretariat has been set ablaze while all on ground are looking for where to hide. Some comrades monitoring the election have run into the bush for hiding,” the source said.
In Udu council area, the exercise did not go peacefully as voters and officials of opposition parties refused to allow distribution of election materials after finding out that the returning officer allegedly ran away with the original result sheets.

The rancorous situation persisted until well after 11:20am when some persons, said to be officials of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), under the cover of  local vigilante men and policemen, pushed their way through the angry crowd, loaded the remaining materials and sped away.

In the neighbouring Ughelli South council area, election materials were still holed up in the Divisional Police Station at the council headquarters in Otu-Jeremi as at noon. The Nation gathered that voters and members of opposition parties, including the APC, had kept vigil around the police station after realising that sensitive materials, including result sheets, were missing from the available materials.

Things, however turned bloody in the early hours of the day when some armed vigilante men, allegedly working with the ruling party, attacked some members of the APC, shooting two, in an attempt to scare people away and make way for easy get away with remaining materials.

A chieftain of the APC in Otu-Jeremi, Ifeanyi Adjekota, called for a rescheduling of the election in the council area, noting that there was no way election would hold and be seen as free and fair any longer. He said trouble started when voters sensed foul play in materials brought, adding that the returning officer allegedly ran away with some sensitive materials.

The office is located at Asokoro District of Abuja.
Only two flags of the party are taped to the building to indicate that it is a party office.
The Independent National Electoral Commission-recognised national headquarters of the party is located at Wuse, Zone 5, Abuja.

Tinubu, Ajimobi, welcome Akala, Folarin, others to APC on Oyo governor’s 68th birthday

Tinubu, Ajimobi, welcome Akala, Folarin, others to APC on Oyo governor’s 68th birthday

The National Leader  of  All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State, two other governors and other chieftains  of the party yesterday formally received  the immediate past  governor of the  State, Adebayo Alao-Akala, former Senate leader, Senator  Teslim Folarin and other top politicians  to the APC.
Alao-Akala’s deputy while in office, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, the only Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member of the House of Representatives from the state, Dokun Odebunmi, and a host of others to the party were received at a massive rally at Mapo Hall, Ibadan
The rally was to also celebrate the 68th birthday of Governor Ajimobi.
Addressing the huge crowd of party supporters and others who defied the scorching sun to witness the event, Tinubu said the APC has all it takes to accommodate the political heavyweights joining its fold.

Other defectors were a  former Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Ayodele Adigun, the immediate past PDP State Chairman, Yinka Taiwo and five Accord Party members in the state House of Assembly.
Also joining the APC were  former Speaker of the state assembly, Ashimiyu Alarape; a former member in the House of Representatives, Kamil Akinlabi; a former Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Kehinde Olaosebikan; Senator  Brimoh Yussuf; former PDP woman leader, Mrs. Olanrewaju Otiti, Folake Olunloyo, Rauf Olaniyan, Lukeman Oorelope and Kemi Jaiyeoba, among others.
With the calibre of the new members, Tinubu and Ajimobi said opposition was dead in the state.
The rally was attended by Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola and his Ondo State counterpart, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the National Vice Chairman (Southwest), Chief Pius Akinyelure and the Deputy National Chairman (South), Segun Oni.

Tinubu said the APC has “a stainless kitchen” that is large enough to accommodate as many cooks as possible.
Allaying fears on how to manage the political differences of the political heavyweights joining the party, Tinubu noted that the APC has a variety of menu in the political kitchen for the future of the country.

He said: “We have a stainless kitchen and we can accommodate as many cooks as possible and because we have a variety of menu in the political kitchen of planning this future, we love those bigwigs and we can accommodate them all. It is in the same forest that you find a hippo that you find an elephant and you will find a rabbit. In political platforms, you must look for the addition not the minus.

“You can see that the opposition is dead in Oyo State.  Today is important for us because it is the birthday of the Governor Ajimobi and things that have never happened in the history of Oyo State have started happening.
“Thank God for my friend Alao-Akala and the others for seeing the light. All of you that joined will also join in building the party. The APC house is great for all of us. We are proud of you for joining us. APC is the only progressive party in Nigeria and Africa.”
He pointed out that it has become very clear that APC would win in 2019.

While welcoming the defectors in their separate remarks, Aregbesola and Akeredolu said  that the resources and experiences of the individuals would be useful to build a more formidable party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
Odebunmi said as the only elected PDP officer from Oyo State, his defection to the APC signaled its final death.
The lawmaker said he has found out that only the APC and Ajimobi have good programme for youths.
Alao-Akala said dynamism in politics requires that politicians move with time.

His words: “To God be the glory. I am moving with time. There is dynamism in politics. We have only one party now in Oyo State. To God be the glory.  There is no more PDP in Oyo State. Everywhere, it is APC. By God’s Grace, Oyo State is now fully APC. I thank Governor Ajimobi for making all the defection possible.
“He opened his arms all the way and supported efforts to bring people into the fold. By God’s grace, all the defectors have worked under me. The room Ajimobi gave us made all these possible. We shall work with him to move the party forward. We shall be good party members.”
Ajimobi described the event as one of the unprecedented incidents marking his tenure.
He called on politicians to forgive themselves of past sins and assured that they will not regret joining the APC.
Akala, Arapaja, Folarin and Odebunmi later held the APC flag and waved it to the crowd as a seal of their membership of the party.
APC Chairman in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke welcomed the defectors, saying they should feel at home.

He said the presence of national officers and the governors at the welcome rally was significant.

$1b To Fight Boko Haram: Apologize to Nigerians over false claims, PDP urges APC

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described the approval for the release of $1bn to the APC-led Federal Government under the guise of fighting insurgency in the northeast as curious and alarming.

The PDP in a statement on Friday by its National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, said it was a manipulative plot by the APC administration to secure approvals without recourse to due process.
According to PDP it was more alarming that APC claimed that the money was for the purposes of fighting the same insurgents it claimed to have since defeated.

The PDP also wondered why the APC-led Federal Government had to recourse to the National Economic Council (NEC) while “avoiding the direct constitutional appropriation channel of the National Assembly for funding of items already provided for in the federal budget if it actually has nothing to hide.
“The PDP supports the fight against insurgency. We hold our officers and men confronting the terrorists and securing our territorial integrity in high esteem, but we are concerned about the manipulative tendencies connected with the approvals as well as the veracity of claimed purpose of the fund.

“Nigerians would recall that the APC-led Federal Government  had claimed that it has since defeated the insurgents.
“If it would take a billion dollar from a nation’s savings to kill what they long claimed dead, then we challenge APC government come clean and tell Nigerians the whole truth.
“The era of lies and propaganda is long gone and Nigerians now know the truth. The Federal Government must be held accountable and stopped from any move to fritter away our national savings.
“We therefore call on the National Assembly to interrogate this proposed disbursement and subject it to a thorough but rapid interrogation”, the statement said.

The PDP also noted that the development has rubbished the integrity of the current administration and demanded that it apologize to Nigerians for lying to them about the actual state of the fight against insurgency in Nigeria.

“By accepting the $1bn for fighting insurgency,  the APC-led Federal Government has admitted that it lied when it announced that it has defeated the insurgents. They should therefore apologize to Nigerians for giving them a false sense of security, resulting in their vulnerability to attacks by terrorists”, the party said.

The PDP recalled that the three points upon which APC hinged their promise were security, corruption and economy and it is apparent that they have failed in all.

“On the economy, they have taken us into recession; on security, Boko Haram is still ravaging our people; on the corruption, the APC Government has only embarked on witch hunt of the opposition while enmeshed  in monumental corruption thriving unabated right inside the engine of its administration”, the party said.

The PDP vowed to ensure the APC does not continue to play with the intelligence of Nigerians, who are now only waiting for 2019 to consign them into the dustbin of history.

Nigeria Sweet. $1 Billion ECA Controversy: Buhari Using it For 2019 Reelection Bid Not Boko Haram– Fayose

Many reactions have trailed the decision by the Federal Government to withdraw $1 Billion from the Excess Crude Account with the official explanation for the use of the money being the fight against Boko Haram.
Not everyone is convinced, most especially Executive Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose who is of the opinion that the money is actually going to fund Buhari’s 2019 re-election bid.

According to the Governor, “For posterity sake, I wish to place it on record that I was not among the governors, who approved the withdrawal of almost half of our savings in the Excess Crude Account, which belongs to the three tiers of government to fight an already defeated insurgency,” he declared.

In a statement issued in Ado Ekiti on Friday, December 15, 2017 and signed by his special assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, Governor Fayose said; “Since they said they have defeated Boko Haram, what else do they need a whopping sum of $1 billion (over N360 billion) for; if not to fund the 2019 elections?
“The APC promised to wipe out Boko Haram within six months, now it is 31 months and what the APC government is wiping out is the economy of Nigeria and the means of livelihood of the people,” Governor Fayose said.

The governor said N360 billion was equivalent to what the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) share to the federal government, 36 States and 774 Local Councils monthly, nothing that “Nigerians deserve proper explanations from the federal government on the rationale behind spending such huge sum of money to fight an already defeated Boko Haram.”

PDP convention: Ladoja withdraws from chairmanship race, aligns with Adeniran

Senator Rashidi

Former Oyo State governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja has withdrawn from the PDP national chairmanship contest.
In a statement issued on Saturday, Ladoja urged other contestants from the South West to rally round former Minister of Education, Professor Tunde Adeniran as the consensus candidate of the the zone.

The statement read: “At the close of nominations, seven (7) Aspirants from the Southwest Zone obtained and returned nomination forms for the position of the National Chairman of our great party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

From consultations with stakeholders from various zones, we gathered that from all zones, the stakeholders who preferred to back the South West Zone for the position suggested that we should prune down the number, if possible, to ONE PERSON.
The Northern stakeholders went to the extent of stating clearly in a Communique, after their meeting, their preference for a South West candidate.

“To reciprocate these laudable gestures, meetings of the Seven (7) Aspirants were held with Senator RA. LADOJA as the convener on Wednesday 6th, Thursday 7th, Friday 8th and Saturday 9th December, 2017 With the sole aim of agreeing a consensus candidate. We all agreed that the chances of one person winning are better than those of seven people who are likely to divide the votes coming to the zone.

“Since then, Mr. Jimi Agbaje, Chief Olabode George, Senator Rashidi Ladoja and Mr. Olusegun Aderemi have withdrawn from the race.
“Accordingly I am of the opinion that Professor Tunde Adeniran should become our consensus candidate for the South West zone.

“I am hereby appealing to all lovers of the South West Zone to support the candidature of Professor Tunde Adeniran to clinch the position of the National Chairman of our great party, the PDP. We shall be very grateful for your support. “

APGA victory: Anambra people voted for Ojukwu not Obiano –Anumaka

Anumaka

Chief Tobby Anumaka, Patron Okpoko Igbo and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the victory of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate and Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano in the just concluded Anambra State governorship election as victory for the late Dim Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu (Ikemba Nnewi).
Has President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the South-East change the perception of an average Igbo about his person?

President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the South-East is a strong indication that he does not hate Igbo contrary to earlier insinuation that the President is anti-Igbo. I stand to be corrected; the cook, driver and most domestic staff of President Buhari are Igbo. Most roads, buildings and facilities in some secondary and tertiary institutions in the South-East were constructed by the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF) under Buhari. One of the roads he did in the region is the Onitsha Head Bridge/ Upper Iweka road, when Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe died in 1996 to enable those coming for the burial of Zik have easy access to his house .

The sin of Buhari against Ndigbo was because he defeated former President Goodluck Jonathan who Igbo lined behind during the 2015 presidential election. Most of us saw it a defeat of Ndigbo. I always admonished our people that election is a contest and one person must win and after election both winners and the losers have to come together and move the nation or state forward. This Igbo must realise and come to terms with. Buhari is not President of the north but President of Nigeria. That you hate him cannot change anything, therefore we must embrace him as part us and then get our share of the national cake. The South-East should be grateful to God for the historical visit of President Buhari to the region.
It is historical because that was the first visit by Buhari to the Southern part of Nigeria since he assumed office as the President of Nigeria in 2015. I think by the visit and promises made Buhari have expressed his love for Ndigbo.
What would you say are the benefits of President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the South-East?

The president was emphatic about his resolve to shift attention of his government to infrastructural development in South-East. He made it clear that the just approved loan by the National Assembly will be channeled towards infrastructural development of the region. As I speak to you arrangement has been concluded for the commencement of work on the Second Niger Bridge. I’m sure Buhari will do what past governments were unable to do for Ndigbo in terms of road construction.

I pray my brothers and sisters in South-East will do the needful to maintain this cordial relationship between the region and Mr. President. This can be possible if Igbo embrace APC and vote massively for the party in 2019.
How do you feel after the President’s visit to Anambra State and the people still did not vote for APC candidate, Dr. Tony Nwoye? Isn’t that a sign that Igbo have not accepted APC in the South-East?

That shows the kind of man Buhari is. Many wished that he influences the election result in Anambra but he never did just as he did not manipulate the results in Rivers, Edo and Ondo States. Buhari obeyed the wish of Anambra people. The visit of Governor Willie Obiano to President Buhari weeks before the election was a welcome development.

Buhari does not play politics of do-or-die hence he is not desperate about  winning at all cost as was the case with some past leaders. With the outcome of the Anambra governorship election, it is obvious that the electoral process under Buhari has improved. The President sees the entire country as his constituency. So, let’s wait till 2019 when Buhari will seek re-election whether Igbo will vote for him or not. It is too early to conclude that Ndigbo won’t vote for Buhari in subsequence elections.
You mean you are not bothered over the defeat your party suffered in Anambra?

Chukwuemeka Junior’s decision to join APC is for the best interest of Igbo. That does not mean that Ojukwu junior is not popular, but to keep Ikemba’s spirit and what he stood and died for alive, Anambrians decided to vote for APGA. Therefore, Anambra people did not vote for Obiano but Ojukwu. APGA is Ikemba’s legacy which I think Igbo vowed to sustain. I assure you that Igbo will see the importance of Emeka’s decision in 2019 because it will be the time Igbo will decide if they want to produce president of Igbo extraction or not.

What it means is that if Buhari is re-elected in 2019, the coast will be clear for Igbo to lay claim to the presidency because other geo political zones must have taken their turn. However, the South-East has no choice but to align with other geo political zones to re-elect President Buhari so that our chances will be brighter in 2023.

The result of Anambra governorship election showed that Igbo have accepted APC and have endorsed President Buhari for a second term by the result margin. APC polled closed to 25 per cent of the votes cast. If you juxtapose this with the perception of APC and Buhari by Igbo before the election, APC has been accepted by Igbo.

Fighting corruption; Nigeria must take a cue from China Ok

                                               President Buhari

“No society is immune from corruption but, the commitment to tackling it, to stemming this evil that is anathema to growth and development on the continent must be the main goal of African leaders in the 21st century,” according to US president Barack Obama at the 23RD AU summit in Addis-Ababa where he addressed the organization’s Heads of government and general assembly.

Obama’s statement is an admittance of the vulnerability of all societies and countries either in first or third world to the scourge called corruption but, the existence and efficacy of the structure put in place; Basically, Law and enforcement are the major factor that defines or measure the excesses of this menace and the seriousness or tolerance level of any government to confronting it.

And talking about tolerance level and seriousness, two important features that a society and its political leadership must have in considerable dose to fight corruption, the Chinese government sets the tone.

Ever since Mao led a communist revolution in the 50s, China has gradually evolved from a once-fledgling country to an economic powerhouse and a dominant player on the international scene.
How did the Chinese do it? Sheer political willingness and desire to realize a dream and maximize the unearthed potentials abound in its vast landmass. And years after Mao’s exit, Asia’s biggest economy still thrives-thanks to the legacies of Mao and other successive Chinese leaders still holding sway and revered in the Communist Party.
China’s leadership though not flawless, still values the sanity and purification of its society.

Over the years, they have not hidden their disgust for corruption within and outside the government. China’s communist government has interpreted the adage “What is good for the geese, is good for the gander” on few occasions and with reverberating effect. The way and manner they handled Bo Xiliai, a former party chieftain and heavyweight lends credence to this.
Bo, who administered the inland city of Chongqing and also a member of the Communist party’s Politbro-its top 25 officials- prior to his arrest on corruption and embezzlement charges was considered as one of the untouchables and important figures in the party’s inner circle. However, the full fang of the law bore down on him and he was sentenced to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of corruption and abuse of power.

Fast forward to 2015, and the Chinese zero tolerance for corruption in any form or guise is still on display. Recently, the communist party leadership rolled out new laws though, likely considered to be eccentric and overboard by critics, but it simply shows that Beijing is not ready to take its foot off the gas in the fight against the scourge.

Under the new laws, party members and government officials are forbidden to display any form of lavish lifestyle; Smoking expensive Cigars, consumption of wines, having extra-marital affairs and playing golf-a game considered as elitist-are now a taboo. Instead, they are expected to stay healthy, exercise and live a decent lifestyle. The whole idea is to mirror a leadership that is in tune with the yearnings of ordinary Chinese masses and serve as role models to the younger ones.
Light years ahead of my beloved country’s limp rhetoric and fight against corruption.

It is disheartening to see a country so blessed like Nigeria wallow in abject poverty. Abundant mineral resources most especially Oil has failed to bring the desired effect on millions of Nigerians. Why? Unchecked economic looting and massive theft of billions of naira accruing from oil sales by past military governments and their cronies have stunted the growth of the country thereby, leaving its development and progress in a vegetative state.
And even democratic rule has brought little or no respite.

The impunity that characterized the looting of the nation’s resources under previous Jonathan government and its lethargic approach to it surmises the type of leaders we have in this country. Under grueling and excruciating economic pains Nigerians were subjected to, the previous government acted as if nothing was amiss. Corruption thrived with his consent.
His body language and statement during one of his televised speech to the nation where he said “corruption is not the major problem affecting Nigeria” lends credence to this.
That statement clearly showed the seriousness and tolerance level of a leadership towards a menace that has been considered as the Achilles heel to prosperity and attaining development in the country. Since it was not an issue, former Aviation minister, Stella Oduah could afford to expend 225million Naira on two bullet proof cars, and still walk away.
Since corruption was not an issue for the Jonathan government, Oil minister Alison Maduekwe could afford to run the oil ministry aground and Abba Moro, former interior minister could make billions off unemployed millions of Nigerian youth out there for a job that was just a smokescreen.

Lest I forget, Dasuki could afford to collect billions in defence contract that was needed to equip the military to fight Boko Haram without delivering the weapons to the soldiers in the battle field.
Bet, these crimes wouldn’t have happened if Nigeria were to be a China.

But, we are not Chinese however we could take a cue from them.
With the wind of change that swept across the country ushering in the government of President Muhammad Buhari, it seems the toga of ineptitude, unwillingness and lethargic approach to fighting corruption within the government circle is being shed. The handling of “DASUKI GATE” attests to this.
Ever since investigations opened into the dealings of the former NSA head, revelations and leads have kept cropping up. And it is believed more would be unfolded.

For what it is, after years of lip service to tackling corruption within the government circle by successive governments, the APC led government of PMB has taken a bold step in arresting the situation. Its willingness to do so deserves commendation.
Nigerians have watched looters loot and walk freely to enjoy their loot. But with the ongoing investigation into Dasuki contract scam, optimism seems to be setting in again for the citizens of Africa’s most populous country. And there is renewed belief that if the present regime can pull this off, then other economic crimes that have gone unattended to in other sectors of the economy might eventually get the search light.
“Good behaviours are copied, while the bad ones are discarded,” Nigeria can look towards the Far East and learn one or two things from the Chinese model when it comes to fighting corruption.
Sheer political willingness and determination to effect change will steady the present government on course to cleansing the country of this menace.

It is simply the leadership that matters. We have laws and enforcement structure in place like the Chinese do, but the difference that sets both countries apart is the “Rule of law” and the political will to implement the law irrespective of status, clime or class of the personality involved.

The Chinese have successfully done this while we are yet to do so.
But, under the present regime, guess Nigerians can hope for a change in attitude and approach to this menace that has been the bane of the country’s progress. And the only way that Buhari can assuage the pains of Nigerians is to lay the foundation of a corruption-free government with zero-tolerance for the scourge by opting for the “Made in China” model

Fresh crisis hits Ondo APC

From Bamigbola Gbolagunte, Akure
A faction of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, comprising eminent leaders yesterday passed a vote of confidence in the suspended former chairman of the party, Mr. Isaac Kekemeke.

Kekemeke was suspended by the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party following a division in the party occasioned by the outcome of the last governorship primary election which produced Governor Rotimi Akeredolu as the party’s candidate. The ousted chairman, who was replaced by Mr. Ade Adetimehin, had since vacated the party’s secretariat and a suit was instituted on his behalf by some party’s members who felt his suspension was wrong.

However, some leaders of the party, including its National Vice Chairman (South West), Chief Pius Akinyelure, a senator representing Ondo North senatorial district, Prof. Ajayi Borrofice and the Osun State Commissioner for Regional Integration, Mr. Bola Ilori, rising from a stakeholders’ meeting of the party in AKure, yesterday passed a vote of confidence in the leadership of Kekemeke.

The APC leaders, who attended the meeting, declared that Kekemeke remains the authentic chairman of the party in the state, while they passed a vote of no confidence in Adetimehin.
Also, the party leaders expressed support for President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration and that of Governor Akeredolu. They unanimously resolved to grant unconditional amnesty to party members that expressed their grievances by contesting the 2016 governorship election under other political parties.

Speaking at the end of the meeting, Kekemeke said: “We are conscious of the need to deliver more votes to President Buhari more than we did in 2015. Although, we thank God that we still won the 2016 governorship election but the huge reduction in the votes scored by APC in the election has taught us the need to bring everybody on board for the good of APC in Ondo state.”
“Therefore, all members that left the party in annoyance or became less active in the party because of the fallout of the last gubernatorial election are hereby invited to return home to their party and are hereby granted unconditional amnesty with full rights and privileges as obtained before their brief departure.

“We are specifically calling on Senator Borroffice, Dr. Segun Abraham and Chief Olusola Oke to come out strong for APC. Henceforth, our disagreements are now in the past and it is our collective duty to build a vibrant party,” he said.

The party leaders also used the forum which had more than 508 elders and leaders in attendance to express belief in the leadership of the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the South West Chairman, Chief Pius Akinyelure.

However, the state Chairman and the Publicity Secretary of the party, Messrs Adetimehin and Abayomi Adesanya, could not be reached for their comments.
