Dr. Babafemi Badejo (born 4 March 1955) is a Nigerian political
scientist, author, publisher and lawyer.
He was born on March 4, 1955 in Ijebu-Ode, a town of about
222,653 (2007) people in Ogun State, Nigeria. He is husband to his wife, Mrs.
Jumoke Badejo and a father of three daughters (Adeyinka, Tokunbo and Bidemi)
and a son (Adebolanle). Badejo, prior to his current role as Head of Political
Affairs.

Dr. Babafemi Badejo
He has extensive experience in academics
at the University of California, Los Angeles and University of Lagos, Lagos,
Nigeria. He trained many successful former students holding major national and
international posts as well as undertook research that resulted in several
publications, including a best seller analytical book on politics in Kenya.
For almost two and a half decades, he served
the United Nations in Somalia, Kenya, Liberia, Guinea-Bissau and Sudan as Chief
of Staff of complex UN Peace Operations; Deputy Special Representative of the
UN Secretary-General at the UN Political Office for Somalia and Head of
Political Affairs in many UN Missions. These responsibilities saw him give
major advisory support to the United Nations on the pursuit of peace through
dialogue in many mediation efforts and reconciliation conferences in many
countries as well as support post-conflict peacebuilding in Liberia and
Guinea-Bissau.
Babafemi Badejo has a Ph.D in Political Science (with a field work and dissertation on Pakistan), from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1982 and a Bachelors in Law from the University of Lagos, Lagos, Nigeria in January 1990 and became an Attorney in December 1990 after attending the Nigerian Law School.
Babafemi Badejo, a citizen of the world wrote his PhD thesis on
Pakistan and lived/traveled widely in the world. He speaks four languages.
